Meet The Team

What’s your journey in the industry so far?

After studying music business, I landed a job in the marketing team at the production music library De Wolfe Music, where I learned a lot about music sync and licensing music in broadcast.

After a few years of gaining experience there, I moved to the Sky TV music team after getting to know them as clients. I spent the next 6 years producing albums for their internal production music catalogue “SATV” as well as working with composers and musicians on bespoke projects for their promos and ad campaigns. This led me to work with Molecular on many projects before finally joining the team as Head of Production

Tell us more about your role and what you do

I’ve been at Molecular for almost three years. I work with clients to help them form a music brief for their ads, promos, or sonic branding projects. I’ll seek out the best talent for the job and work with them on music composition, sound design, and post-production, whether that’s working with our in-house team or one of our amazing freelance collaborators. I’ll liaise with clients and make sure they’re happy with the final results of their project.

What’s your most favourite part of your job?

I think the sheer variety of projects we work on; we never know what creative idea will land in our inbox next. This means every day is different and we get to work with so many different composers and musicians depending on the brief. Having the opportunity to bring work to so many musicians is a real joy.

What is the project you have most enjoyed working on/or are proud of?

I’m not one for picking favourites, as I’ve had the pleasure of working on some really fun projects that are all quite different. Most recently we created a sonic identity for the RNIB, which was special for the whole team, knowing that sound is so incredibly crucial for those with sight loss. It was a great feeling to be part of such an important brand adaptation, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity were at the forefront.

Tell us something that most people wouldn’t know about you

I grew up with 3 brothers and through them adopted a love of horror movies at a way too early age. If I have a night to myself, I’ll be in a dark room, watching the latest A24 Film. At junior school, I had multiple props confiscated after scaring the other girls, which included a Freddy Krueger glove, and a Boglin (pictured). If it’s weird, I’m watching it. I think that’s why I enjoy working on dark trailer tracks so much.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?

Apply for the job you want even if you don’t think you fulfil all of the criteria. I had no intention of applying for my first job in the music industry as I didn’t feel I exactly fitted the job spec, and I never thought I’d even get an interview. I only applied after encouragement from others, and I’m so glad others believed in me and pushed me to go for it. So really the advice I suppose is to believe in yourself and put yourself out there.

Who is your inspiration and why?

Again, I don’t love picking favourites, there are so many people doing incredible things. I’d say the people who inspire me most are women doing incredible things and striving to create change in their field all the while often being mothers, caregivers or just generally spinning multiple plates in their lives.
